ROYSTON, VANCOUVER ISLAND, BC
Royston is a small seaside hamlet which is part of the greater Comox Valley region, just south of Courtenay on Vancouver Island, in British Columbia, Canada. It is situated next to the Trent River, across the harbour from Comox and just southeast of the municipal boundary of Courtenay. The settlement is home to just over 1,500 residents – and to a spanking new seaside walkway. The Marine Drive portion of the walkway straggles along beachfront that looks across to the community of Comox. There are picnic tables and a huge stone fireplace, built as a centennial project and documenting all the youngsters who helped to haul stones from the beach for its construction.
